It has been quiet here for a long time. And now just this last post on this blog. I’m moving my blogging adventure to my new domain at http://dev.bitvampire.com. The site is running on my own server at home for now, so if the site is unavailable or slow please be patient until I find a descent (and cheap) hosting provider.

I just posted this message today and already I have to take it back.

The iTheater project decided yesterday that they had to delay the release for their product until the 31th of Januari. With the keynote at Macworld coming up my guess is that they will be too late to do anything in the home theater business, because Apple is probably doing it already.

The good thing is that I’m not the only one who expected Apple to do something like iTheater. So the question is: why aren’t they? Beats me, I’ll think about it some more and get back on the subject later.

Even the established technology and market research company Forrester seems to have the Apple rumor virus now. The VP for Devices, Media, & Marketing, Josh Bernoff published an article speculating on a set-top-box that Apple is about to release:

Video is certain to be central to Apple’s pitch at the Macworld Conference and Expo this year. But don’t look for an Apple set-top box just yet. Later this year, Apple will create a new set-top device (call it AppleVision) that brings the Internet and video downloads to the TV set, shaking up the device world and further exploding video distribution.

Just as I started to enjoy getting grips on the web 2.0 thing, I saw that there’s another thing that seems to be gaining momentum: Library 2.0. What the f**k? The reasoning is that “Web 2.0 + Library = Library 2.0″. Seems to me there is time for something else: “Web 2.0 + Anything = What ever 2.0″. Who’s with me?

The Web 2.0 thing has been interesting me for quit a while now and I’ve been trying to make sense of it. And mainly how you can you us Web 2.0 idea’s within big enterprises. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of info on this on the web, except maybe what Robert Litchfield is talking about on his site. I think he is on the right track for discovering the need for a enterprise edition of Web 2.0, but I think he is taking it in the wrong direction. To put it simple: Web 2.0 is not about software architecture or programming languages it’s about attitude. I think Tim O’Reilly describes it clearly on his site an I agree with him. Web 2.0 is an attitude not technology, if it was that simple any company could do it. Tim makes it very clear what the attitude is you need as a Web 2.0 company.

But what do you need to make you’re avarage enterprise a Web 2.0 enterprise, and not on the outside but on the inside. I think this is what the Web 2.0 Enterprise Edition should describe, the application of Web 2.0 ideas and principles to the internal dynamics of an enterprise. I’ve got some ideas in my head and I will try to write them down in the future. Any inspiration is welcome of course. (comments on my spelling and grammar is welcome as well)
